Workshop: Engaging in Courageous Conversations

Image

Have you ever been in a situation where you’ve attempted to go deeper into a conversation, but you’re worried that things will get awkward? It’s happened to most of us – and it’s especially tricky when you’re sharing your faith!

Melbourne Chinese Christian Church is hosting a short training on how to engage in meaningful conversations. We’ll be looking at some of the most common fears/barriers when talking to new comers, how to possibly turn a conversation into one that is more meaningful and faith related, and wrapping things up with a prayer session.

Date: Friday 5th July, 2013

Venue: MCCC (29 Summerhill Road, Glen Iris)

Time: 8.00pm – 9:30pm

This is an optional training, but it will be helpful for people of all ages in developing conversational skills in an outreach context!

Hope to see you all there!

MCCC Dinner & Sharing Night #3 – ‘Count your Blessings’

Image

What have you been thankful for recently?
How have you seen God work during challenging times?

It is often easy for us to forget the simple blessings God has given us, such as a simple meal or a roof over our heads. Why not take some time out and reflect on how God has blessed us, maybe it’s a new heater or a holiday.  Even if you might be going through challenging times, God works, so let us reflect on how God is working in our lives?

Come escape the winter weather and join us for dinner at 7pm on the 21st of June, before we dive into a fun night of sharing and discussion on the topic of ‘Counting your Blessings’ at 7.45pm. The night will conclude at 9.10pm. Please feel free to stay back and hang out with us at MCCC (Melbourne Chinese Christian Church).

There is also an optional gold coin donation for those coming for dinner to help cover costs.

When: 7pm for dinner, 7:45pm for sharing and discussion
Where: Melbourne Chinese Christian Church (29 Summerhill Rd, Glen Iris)

Hope to see you there!

MCCC Dinner & Sharing Night #2 – ‘Priorities’

Image

What are your current priorities at the moment?
What does God expect your priorities to be?
How can we please God better?

Everyone has their own set of priorities. We put important things first ahead of other less important or not-so-urgent matters. It’s like a to-do list that we constantly uphold, but as Christians how should we better prioritise our life in a way that is most pleasing to God?

Been thinking about these issues? You’re welcomed to come join us for dinner at 7pm before we dive into a fun night of sharing and discussion about our priorities in life at 7.45pm. The night will end at 9,10pm but please feel free to stay back and hang with us because at MCCC (Melbourne Chinese Christian Church) we love to stay up late on a Friday night.

See you then!

Easter Weekend @ MCCC

As you may know, the MCCCES camp is just around the corner!

All are welcome to attend our Good Friday service at 10am in the Glen Iris Chapel before we head off to Marysville for camp.

Any non-campers who want to attend Church on Sunday are more than welcome to head up to Marysville to join us for an Easter Sunday service commencing at 9:30am. The address is:

El Kanah Marysville
975 Buxton Road,
Marysville, VIC, 3779

But! If Marysville is too far, then no worries! A Cantonese service will be running their Easter Sunday Service at the main hall in Glen Iris, commencing at 9:45am. It’s right across from the Chapel.

But! If you have trouble understanding Cantonese, then no worries either! A Hakka/English combined service will be running over at Kew, celebrating both Easter Sunday and the Hakka congregation’s 22nd anniversary. Service commences at 1:30pm. The address for the Kew church is:

28 Union Street,
Kew, VIC, 3101

Hope to see you at one of these services! Happy Easter from MCCC!
