Sharing Night: Faith in Life

Sharing Night: Faith in Life

Being a Christian doesn’t just mean attending church on Sundays and striving to be a “good person”. So what does the Christian faith look like in everyday life?

On Friday 19th of September, we will be eating dinner together and hear some sharings from a panel of people (a high schooler, a university student, and a working adult) of the joys and challenges in life as followers of Jesus. We will then split up into small groups and discuss what it looks like & means to be a Christian.

We welcome newcomers to attend this night for fantastic food, good company, and a meaningful discussion on the Christian faith! We promise that there will be friendly faces and cake at the end of the night 😀

Where? Melbourne Chinese Christian Church (29 Summerhill Rd, Glen Iris)
When? Friday 19th September
What time? Dinner 7pm; Program 8pm. Scheduled to finish ~ 9.15pm.
What to bring? Bible, pen, gold coin donation (optional – to cover cost)

See you all there!

Workshop: Engaging in Courageous Conversations

Image

Have you ever been in a situation where you’ve attempted to go deeper into a conversation, but you’re worried that things will get awkward? It’s happened to most of us – and it’s especially tricky when you’re sharing your faith!

Melbourne Chinese Christian Church is hosting a short training on how to engage in meaningful conversations. We’ll be looking at some of the most common fears/barriers when talking to new comers, how to possibly turn a conversation into one that is more meaningful and faith related, and wrapping things up with a prayer session.

Date: Friday 5th July, 2013

Venue: MCCC (29 Summerhill Road, Glen Iris)

Time: 8.00pm – 9:30pm

This is an optional training, but it will be helpful for people of all ages in developing conversational skills in an outreach context!

Hope to see you all there!
