Christmas is right around the corner again! However despite the Christmas trees, ornaments and songs of Santa floating around, Christmas is ultimately about the birth of our Saviour Jesus.
So come and join us and experience the true meaning of Christmas!
When: Saturday, 16th December 2017, 6:30 PM
Where: Melbourne Chinese Christian Church, 29 Summerhill Road, Glen Iris 3146
The topic for this year: “Is Christmas still relevant?”
We will be starting the night off with a dinner, before heading into the main hall to enjoy some carols, musical performances by the Kew band and listen to a talk by our Associate Pastor Charlie Liao!
It’s a night not to be missed and we hope to see you all there!
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
If you’re coming, please RSVP via the Facebook event here
Come join us at MCCC English Service this Christmas as we ask the question “What is Love?”
On the night you can expect a choir performance, carols, a skit performance and a talk on the topic by our guest speaker Mark Young. And in true MCCC fashion, we’ll also be providing supper and refreshments at the end of the evening.
On the 11th of November, we’ll have our Activity and Sharing night which will wrap up the year’s Bible studies as we head into a period of Christmas Celebration Night preparation in the remaining Fridays of the year. For the Sharing night, we encourage you to share something from this year’s Bible studies! Here are a couple of questions to help prompt what you can share:
Which bible passage do you like the best from bible study this year and why?
How did you apply the things we’ve learnt to overcome a difficult situation this year?
Don’t forget to come to the AGM on Sunday, or hand in your proxy form by Friday!
We’ve had a great start with preparation for Christmas Celebration Night on the 19th of December (FB invite link). Come join us for more preparation, we could use more performers – especially instrumentals!
Let’s continue to glorify God as we prepare to celebrate and show God’s wonderful love, amazing grace and awesome power on this Christmas Celebration Night!
Hi everyone, hope you had a great sharing night last Friday with Trivia, sharing and prayer! We had feedback forms to fill out, and we’ll be looking for feedback for the year in helping us know how to improve edifying one another.
In the next weeks we’ll be preparing for Christmas Celebration Night, which is on the 19th of December. The Facebook event is here. Please think of someone you could invite, pray for them and give them a flyer!
Hope to see you there, to prepare, pray and fellowship!
We’ve finished our studies on the book of Revelation, and will have a sharing night this Friday to share what we’ve learnt and pray with one another. Do have a look over what we’ve done in the past year so you can share fruitfully. Come at 7pm for dinner this Friday!
After the sharing night, we will have Christmas Celebration Night preparation from 20th November to 18th December, and then the actual Christmas Celebration Night on the 19th December! We have flyers if you want to invite your friends, make sure to write their names on the back and pray for them! Just see Peter or Jenny if you want one.
My my my, time has surely gone by fast as this year is quickly coming to an end!
The Final Sharing Night held last Friday was indeed a great way to wrap up everything that we have learnt in the bible studies this year. Firstly, thank you to Peter, Andy and Matthieu who poured sweat and tears (not literally) in preparing the delicious curry – in which they cooked a storm in the church kitchen from 2pm to 7pm! Secondly, it was really awesome seeing everyone participating in the skit activity, which was based on the themes that were learnt from the books of Ruth, Ecclesiastes and Esther. It was hilarious seeing how each team’s skit incorporated some sort of Barbecue event that involved singing hymns. Finally, the night concluded with a group sharing. It was extremely encouraging just to listen to how each of us has grown spiritually, what we may have learnt through the lessons, or even what we are thankful for.
Although bible studies have officially concluded for the year, do not fret; as Friday nights are still running!!!! The MCCES Christmas Celebration Night is fast approaching on Saturday the 13th of December! Starting from tonight, the next few Friday Nights (21/11, 28/11, 5/12, 12/12) will be spent in preparation for the Christmas Celebration Night. The preparation nights will start as usual at 8pm with worship, following with a group prayer, then divided into preparation for the carols instrumental, choir and also crafts. Supper will also be provided, so you do not have to worry about going home with your tummy grumbling!
It’s that time of the year again!! MCCC are holding our Annual Christmas Celebration Night.
